Holly won the Women in Channel Rising Star 2020!

Congratulations, Holly! “barrier-busting role model” describes you perfectly, this is so well deserved, you absolute badass!

Started the day feeling really positive and feeling like today was going to be a good day… DAMN did it deliver!! ⠀ ➡️ Dev: I made awesome progress on my feature. I hit all my goals for the day and have just a bit of UI polish to do tomorrow before it's PR ready. 👩‍💻⠀ ⠀ I also started writing documentation for the wiki I am championing across the team. 🖋 I have wanted to start for the last couple days so it feels good to have made more progress. ⠀ ➡️ Advocacy: Spoke on a panel with @whitehatgb about Building the Workforce of the Future. 🎤 Such a fascinating conversation with the other panelists. ⠀ ⠀ Shared a Microsoft Principal Software Engineering Manager role on the Search and Intelligence team to my network to work (if you think you would be a good fit, DM me). 💪 I was asked by our a lead on our sister team! ⠀ 🌟 PLUSSSSSS, won the Women in Channel Rising Star 2020 award!! 🤩🎉 I am so honored to have been nominated! The judges said I was a "barrier busting role model". ⠀ ⠀ Hah days like this just remind me about what I love about my role in tech. It's the combination of my dev and advocacy work that brings me real fulfillment in my role. ⠀ ⠀ Start your day off on the right foot! It makes the whole day better 💜

As a software developer or engineer, your technical skills are important. But being an expert in a specific stack usually isn’t enough to land you a job. There are some soft skills that relate to how you do your job and interact with coworkers and clients that can be just as important (if not more important) for you to know. Bree is sharing 5 that have been the most important in her personal experience!
