Celebrations 🥂🎉

Suma got a new job as a Software Developer in the middle of the pandemic and on a visa!

In her own words:

“I was let go by my former employer unfairly in middle of the pandemic. It was very difficult for me being on a visa and not having a job. I finally started a new job exactly one month ago as a full time Software Developer with a company that has never hired anyone on a visa. They are also willing to sponsor in the future which is awesome. It feels good to finally be employed and earn again.

It is definitely a hard time and being on a visa is even more difficult. I have learnt a lot of tips and tricks during this job search and would love to guide anyone in the same situation. I would love to give back in any way possible. :)”

if(Monday) { backToTheGrind(); } . . Vacation ✅ Now, let's set the mood of the week 👉🏻 Productive . . How do you get back to work mode after an amazing and adventurous(😉) vacation? . . Few things I do: . 🔹I make a list of my projects and things to complete after I get back. I give it quick glance on Sunday evening. This helps me keep track of my work and I don't feel lost when I go to work. So, making a short priority list of things I plan to tackle upon my return helps a lot. ♦️Most important : I clean up before leaving (both home and workplace). Helps me have a better starting point when I get back 😇 🔸Checking work calendar a day before to avoid being surprised by meetings that I'm not prepared for. 🔹If I'm too tired to unpack and organize my stuff, I pick out only my clothes and other things needed the night before so that I don't panic and get late looking for my stuff. (Psst 🤫 : picking out new clothes help me energize my morning 😉) . . What are your tips for going back to work after vacation? . . #mondaymotivation #monday #backtowork #womenintech #girlsinstem #girlswhocode #dev #stem #backfromvacation #productive #backtothegrind #productivity #coding #techlifestyle #tech #codinglife #softwaredeveloper #programming #code #coder #techlife #techgirl #womenwhocode #mondaymood #backfromcalifornia #workmode #workmodeon

Sundas celebrated 2 personal milestones!

The first one was getting her parents to move out to Seattle and the second one was refinancing her mortgage, reducing the interest rate from 4.375% to 2.75%. Which is huge and will save her family a lot of money long-term.

Congratulations, Sundas, both of these are amazing achievements! Very proud of you and so happy to see you celebrating so many personal wins!

Celebrating two big personal milestones this week and I wanted to share it with all of you 💕 1. My parents moves to Seattle (years of work). My kids will finally gave grandparents house to go to and our Eids and holidays won’t be spent alone and many more things ❤️ This has been one of my personal goals for a many years now and super happy to hit this milestone 🎉 2. We refinanced and closed this week (2 months of work)—reducing our interest rate from 4.375% to 2.75%. This is going to save us ~$360K over the next 30 years. Huge savings (almost feels like hitting a jackpot but it’s not really). Planning to invest to grow these savings even more 💃🏻 I took a few days off of work this week to relax and celebrate. Hope you are having a great week too. We talk about careers quite a bit here but I’d love to know, what are some of your personal goals?
