Ashley got a job as a Software Engineer at a bank!

Congratulations, Ashley, the 2 exhausting months of search have paid off! So happy for you and excited to follow you in this new chapter of your professional life 🥰

🥳 I GOT A JOB!! 🥳 I am SO happy to announce that after ~2 months of intense job searching I received multiple offers and accepted an offer for a Software Engineer role at a bank in the US! 😁 I'm so excited to start my new role next month and am specializing in mobile dev! As some of you know, I had a grad job lined up in the UK but with the pandemic circumstances that wasn't an option so I started job searching and all my hard work paid off since I've gotten this job 🥳. I have tons of blog posts to write on tech interviews, how to perfect your CV, etc. but for now I'm celebrating and enjoying my free time before I start working!! 😊 To anyone out there who's still job searching- you got this, don't give up, and believe in yourself 💙. And to anyone who's gotten a job – congratulations!! It's not easy to get a job in this job market so you should be proud of yourself! 🥳🥳 P.S. A new episode of @sistercodes dropped today on negotiating your salary. I successfully negotiated a higher salary for my job and my sister @justacoderthing had a compensation talk so we wanted to share our tips! You can listen to the new ep wherever you get your podcasts 🎙

Laila got a job offer, doubling her salary!

Yes, you go girl! Congratulations, Laila, hard work really does pay off! Visualising and verbalising your goals is so powerful ❤️.

Hey guys, so something amazing happened a few days ago and I just wanted to share my testimony. I know a lot is going on in the world and I pray that everyone is keeping safe. 🤍 I hope that my testimony will bless you and may it encourage you to continue to seek God and strengthen a relationship with him and live by FAITH with no fear or doubt. I really can’t STRESS the importance of building a strong relationship with God because he truly has a better plan for us and he knows the desires of our hearts more than we do. Spend time with God because he loves you and in your prayers, believe that it’ll happen with no doubt in your heart and I’m telling you, whatever you’ve been praying for will happen. Prophecy good things over your life and he will give it to you in his PERFECT timing. Wait on him with patience because it’ll be worth it. Find peace in where you are now so that he can enter you into a new blessing. Live by faith and believe that anything is possible with God even through difficult times. God bless you 🤍

Prasha got promoted to Product Development Manager!

Congratulations, Prasha! You are such an inspiration, keep on being the badass you are 🥰

I GOT A PROMOTION AT MY 9-5 JOB!. . Starting Nov 16th, I’ll be a Product Development Manager and will be leading a very diverse group of engineers.😍. . My career path is no way linear and I don’t think it’ll ever be. Here’s all the roles I’ve held in past 6 years:. . Engineering Trainee – 2 yrs & 3 different locations and roles. . Design Engineer – 1 yr. Designing cable specifications. . Quality Manager – 3 yrs. Responsible for the quality of over 2million ft/day of cable production. . And now I’ll be Product Development Manager. . I’m excited to be back in R&D and excited that I’ll be taking the role of one of my very first interviewers. I remember they asked me this quesiton and without flinching I said I would do what you are doing. They were taken aback but I somehow was “overconfident” & witty. . Fast forward to today, I’m excited to be growing and for being valued by my employer. . 9-5s build character, they build work ethic and they expose us to many different problems. If you are in a 9-5, start being grateful and learn from it! It’s here to teach you something. . And if you are hustling at a side hustle too then know that you don’t need to choose either or. If both bring you joy, then you can grow in both 🤩. . Ask me all your 9-5 questions below👇🏽
