June 16: Women in Tech Weekly Issue 63

Another Tuesday, another issue of Women in Tech Weekly! It’s amazing to see that nothing, not even a pandemic can stop these amazing ladies from achieving their goals 🥰

If you’d like to submit anything for next week’s issue, please do so using the submission form at the bottom of this post.

Featured Woman 👩‍💻

Kaylee and Just a Coder Thing

Kaylee is a Software Engineer, who loves programming for how logical and yet creative it is at the same time! This reminds me of Ada Lovelace (the first programmer in history), who saw poetry in maths ❤️

Kaylee is passionate about diversity in tech and has started her blog as a way to help other women get into the tech industry. She shares a ton of value in every single post, so make sure you follow this amazing girl and role model!

Celebrations 🥂🎉

Yasmin has graduated from the University of Maryland!

Congratulations, Yasmin! This is incredibly exciting and we’re all looking forward to seeing what you achieve in life 🥰 keep on killing it, girl!

Korie is taking her talents to the University of Michigan, diving into Chemical Engineering!

This is so exciting, Korie, congratulations!! Show the world what you’re capable of ❤️

Taking my talents to the Maize and Blue! . It’s official! I’m now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, College of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Lola Eniola-Adefeso! . I’m so excited to join her lab and work with my new colleagues, and I’m even more excited to have a mentor who looks like me! . ChemE and BME have a lot of overlap, so I will be switching my research gears a little to now use biocompatible functional particles for targeted drug delivery. I still will do some cancer research but I’m ready for a new challenge! . . . . . . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #thisiswhatascientistlookslike #redefiningtheimageofascientist #postdoc #nextsteps #engineer #nerd #phdjourney #phdlife #covid19 #phdisbae #phdlifestyle #womeninstem #phdwoman #dissertation #firstgen #phdfresh #representationmatters #wocinstem #geeksquad #blackwomeninstem #dr #teamkorie #newchallenge #research #biomedicalengineering #chemicalengineering #goblue〽️
